The handpan community is one of the most welcoming in music — and there’s no better way to feel that than at a gathering. From intimate weekend jams in the forest to multi-day festivals with international lineups, workshops, and tuning services, these events are where players, builders, and listeners come together to share the instrument we love.
Below is our running list of the handpan festivals and gatherings happening around the world. Since most of these events are annual, we’ve focused on what makes each one special rather than exact dates — those change every year, so we link directly to each event’s official site or social page where you can find current schedules and tickets.

Organized by Hamsa Handpans founder Stevan Morris, Pantasia gathers in the high desert at the Joshua Tree Lake Campground each spring. Local Meetups, Jams & Smaller Gatherings
Beyond the major festivals, many cities now have informal monthly handpan meetups and jam circles — Berlin, Barcelona, and several U.S. cities all have active local scenes that helped spawn some of the festivals above. These are usually organized through Facebook groups or local handpan community pages rather than dedicated websites, so your best bet is searching “[your city] handpan meetup” on Facebook or Instagram, or asking in larger online handpan communities.
Finding Current Dates
Festival dates shift from year to year, so rather than list dates that go stale, we recommend bookmarking one of these regularly updated community resources alongside this page:
- Paniverse Events Calendar — a long-running, community-maintained list of upcoming handpan events worldwide
- Each festival’s own website or Facebook/Instagram page (linked above), which will always have the most accurate, current information on dates and tickets
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a handpan festival or gathering? A handpan festival or gathering is a community event — usually held over a weekend or several days — where handpan players, builders, and enthusiasts come together for concerts, workshops, jam sessions, and camping. They range from large, ticketed festivals with international lineups to small, informal “free flow” gatherings with no fixed schedule.
How do I find a handpan gathering near me? Check the list above for the festival closest to your region, or search Facebook and Instagram for “[your city or country] handpan” to find local meetup groups, which often organize smaller, informal jams outside the major festival circuit.
Are handpan festivals beginner-friendly? Yes — most gatherings welcome players of all levels, and many offer beginner workshops with loaner instruments. The handpan community is known for being especially welcoming to newcomers.
Can I get my handpan tuned at these events? Many larger festivals invite professional tuners to offer retuning services on-site — it’s worth checking with the event organizers ahead of time if your handpan needs attention.
