Our newest “Yuan” Series includes some of our most popular scales and a few that we have wanted to get to for awhile. Yuan means “Origin” or “Source” in Chinese. “Yuan Qi” is a fundamental component of Oriental Medicine where it is considered the energy of the bodies inborn inherent vitality and essence.
The Yuan Series is the synthesis of a new design layout and marble like finish combined with our time tested experience and skill. These instruments are made from the same steel and note architecture as our Professional Series. One of the primary differences is the shoulder tones around the center note are tuned on the Professional Series, which is a fine detail that can sometimes take as much time and energy as tuning every other note on the instrument combined, hence the difference in price.
Our first Yuan Series Saraz, was the classic D Kurd Minor 10 followed by an 11 note D Celtic Minor and an F2 Pygmy.
