SARAZ HANDPAN SCALES

For the best internal resonance of each scale, the Saraz is built in 3 sizes. The diameter (19″, 20″ & the original 21″) is indicated either beside a particular scale layout or in the description of the scale.

Four or less of the notes in (parenthesis) are available on the bottom shell of the instrument.

The port on the bottom shell of each Saraz is tuned with 3 different tones that correspond to the scale. 2-5 shoulder tones are tuned into the border of the center note. We determine the best port and shoulder tone tuning for each individual instrument.

This list is organized first by center note (lowest to highest), then by scale name and number of notes. Click on the red links for video samples.
